We are seeing some wet conditions around the area this evening, courtesy of a nearly stationary front that is triggering numerous showers and even some rumbles of thunder around the northern portions of the area this evening.

Almost all the rain is along and north of I-64. The rain is causing some difficult driving conditions around the area, so be careful as you head out to your evening plans. Eventually, rain will enter the state from the west, and everyone will see chances for precipitation as the night goes on. With temperatures actually warming during the night, almost all of what falls will be in the wet form; only the highest elevation locations will see any sort of wintry precipitation mixing in. Lows will wind up in the middle to upper 40s for most areas.
Tomorrow will start with some patchy fog as temperatures and dewpoints will be close together.

As the day goes on, the fog lifts, but the skies will remain mostly cloudy. Temperatures will stay mild as the warm air continues to be bottled up to our north, with the average high pushing 60 degrees. Some of the northern areas could again be cooler, but the difference should not be quite as stark as it was today.
Starting tomorrow, the rain takes a break for a couple of days as we will be between systems, with the stalled-out front possibly triggering some showers late Wednesday night/Thursday morning.

A more powerful storm pushes through on Thursday night and into Friday, which means that the Friday night football games will be wet. Take the rain gear if you’re planning on heading out to the game.

The chance for showers lasts into Saturday before tapering off and leaving us with mostly sunny skies for a couple of days before we end the extended forecast with a chance for rain. Temperatures remain at or above normal, but the Futurecast is hinting at a big cooldown by Thanksgiving Day.
