SPRINGDALE, WV (WOAY)- Around 2 am, Fayette County emergency 911 received a call about an unconscious man in the road with downed powerlines around him.
During the police investigation at the scene, it was determined that the man lost control of the pickup truck he was driving, wrecked it into the power pole, and then went about 50ft over the embankment.
Based on the evidence, deputies believed the man had crawled up the embankment to the road, where he may have come in contact with a downed power line, resulting in electrocution.
For his family’s privacy, his name is not being released at this time. This is an ongoing investigation that remains active. Newswatch will update you if we hear more.
