Taking a look at the drought monitor and we have seen even more improvement in our area since the rain started. However, some of our area is still “abnormally dry”, but it’s not really a concern since it’s not technically in drought.

We will continue to get some rain going through the day Friday. Nothing looks super widespread, but heavy rain is possible in some areas. The Storm Prediction Center has placed our western areas in a Marginal Risk (Level 1/5) of severe weather going into Saturday. Overall, the chance of storms is low on Saturday, but if one pops up the chance of 50-60 mph winds will exist. The European model still not super bullish on rainfall over the next 7 days keeping most people under an inch. It has risen slightly since yesterday due to next Thursday looking like it could accumulate some rain.

Here is a look over the next 7 days in your full 7 day forecast. Storms are possible on Friday and potentially Saturday hence the Marginal Risk of severe weather. We do dry up Sunday through Tuesday before Wednesday and Thursday appear to bring the rain chances back into our region. The good news with this is that it gives us even more time to dry out before the rain comes back into play. Also, the rain next week doesn’t look super impactful and some of the high school sports that are starting up shouldn’t be impacted all that much. Some places could though as it shouldn’t be widespread rain, just spotty.
