FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WOAY)- On Monday, a virtual “History Alive” experience will broadcast for free on Zoom.
Fayetteville local Karen Vuranch will participate in the event, portraying West Virginia native Pearl Buck. Buck was a writer born in Pocahontas County and wrote over 100 novels, 73 short stories and more than 200 articles.
Vuranch says she looks forward to the opportunity to play the iconic historic figure.
“I love Living History because it’s a chance for me to do serious research and talk about political and social issues as well,” said Vuranch. “It takes theater to the next level. It’s not just acting a character, it’s actually talking about issues.”
The event is on Zoom and starts at 7 p.m. on August 24. After the performance, Vuranch will answer questions both in and out of character.
