GARY, WV (WOAY) – The Gary Police Department will be hosting a demonstration of a new law enforcement material, the BolaWrap 100.
This device is designed to offer police officers a less-lethal, non-painful tool to control subjects who are experiencing a mental health crisis. The demonstration will be Friday, August 28 from 10-11 am.
“We’ve invited all of the area police agencies from Mercer, Raleigh, Wyoming and McDowell Counties to be there and witness this demonstration,” said Gary Chief of Police S.P. “Pat” McKinney. “They’re actually going to fire it at some people and show how it works. Plus, they’re going to do a class on it.”
