BLUEFIELD, WV (WOAY) – Starting today, The current Bluefield Regional Medical Center’s emergency department will be renamed and will offer full emergency services.
In an effort to maintain a fully equipped emergency department, Bluefield Regional Medical Center is transitioning all services over to Princeton Community Hospital. The new department will be named Princeton Bluefield Emergency Department and will be located on the campus of Bluefield Regional Medical Center.
“The reality is in-patient facilities today has changed quite a bit and we have seen a lot of the in-patient volume switch to out-patent particularly in the OR. Being able to provide an emergency care to the community gives everyone a sense of security,” said CEO Princeton Community Hospital Jeffrey Lilly.
The consolidation of both hospitals and the name change will go into effect today.
