FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WOAY) – The Fayette County Board of Education introduced two members to serve a four-year term beginning July 1. Stephen G. Slockett has served as the Vice President of the board for the past two years. Cindy Whitlock has held a variety of roles within the school system over a number of years.
“The true winners of the election, my election, and Cindy Whitlock’s, are the students, the teachers, administrators and the staff of the Fayette County school system,” Slockett said.
“I support the school staff, in my job with New River health,” Whitlock said. “I work with a lot of the schools already, so I’ve kept up with everything that’s going on.”
The new board members are working on preparing students, parents and staff for the upcoming school year amidst COVID-19.
