WOAY – West Virginia men’s basketball has now won 15 straight after holding off Baylor to win 57-54 in Morgantown Tuesday night.
The Mountaineers and Bears were tied at 29 at halftime, with the contest remaining close throughout the rest of the evening. Jevon Carter’s three-pointer with just over a minute remaining gave WVU the lead for good, as they handed Baylor a fifth straight loss to a ranked opponent.
WVU was led by Lamont West and Daxter Miles, Jr., who each scored 12 points. Sagaba Konate came close to a double-double, with eight points and 12 rebounds. Manu Lecomte led Baylor with 13 points.
West Virginia heads to Texas Tech Saturday for a 2:00 PM tip. The Red Raiders’ loss to Oklahoma on Tuesday means WVU is the last remaining team unbeaten in Big 12 play.
