Clendenin, WV (WOAY) A wanted man is now behind bars after deputies say he was found hiding inside a dumpster in the Clendenin area.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office says a woman discovered 42-year-old Kelcey Nicholas inside a dumpster Tuesday afternoon near Dutch Ridge Road.
Nicholas was wanted in connection with last week’s triple stabbing in the same area and had an active warrant charging him with three counts of malicious wounding.
Deputies say Nicholas ran into the woods, prompting a search involving the Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals Service CUFF Task Force.
The Sheriff’s Office Drone Team used a thermal imaging drone to locate Nicholas by his heat signature.
He was taken into custody without further incident and was expected to be arraigned in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
