Governor Morrisey celebrates the 98th birthday of a Raleigh County veteran

Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – Over the weekend, Governor Patrick Morrisey celebrated the 98th birthday of a Raleigh County Korean War veteran.

Glenn Darrell Johnson was honored at the Raleigh County Veterans and First Responders Museum.

A veteran of the Korean War, he was also a prisoner guard for the Nuremberg trials at the end of World War II.

He worked in the railroad industry after retiring from the military.

West Virginia is blessed to be home to some of the bravest, most dedicated patriots this nation has ever seen, and today we celebrate a true legend among them,” Morrisey said in a statement. “Thank you, Glenn, for your incredible service, and happy 98th birthday!”
