McDowell County, WV (WOAY) The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office wants to get the word out about a potential scam.
Deputies have been made aware of phone calls where scammers are telling victims that they have missed jury duty and they must pay a fine to avoid being arrested.
The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office says it will never call and demand money over the phone for any reason.
If you get one of these calls, authorities urge you to hang up immediately.
