Mountaineer Food Bank providing supplies to SALS to help flood recovery efforts

Fayette County, WV (WOAY) – Southern Appalachian Labor School partners with Mountaineer Food Bank for their regular food pantries and banks.

So it made sense for Mountaineer Food Bank to reach out to Southern Appalachian Labor School to help provide food and cleaning supplies to areas hard-hit by the recent floods, many of which are in the immediate area of Southern Appalachian Labor School’s headquarters.

A trailer of food and supplies will arrive Saturday, and distribution will begin at 1 p.m. at the historic Oak Hill School, 140 School Street, in Oak Hill. If you need it, come and get it.

SALS also plans to take drinkable water into the hard-hit areas of Mulberry Hollow, Beards Fork, and Gauley Bridge, which is currently under a boil water advisory.
