WV Dept of Education declared a state of emergency for Wyoming County schools

Wyoming County, WV (WOAY) – The West Virginia Department of Education has declared a state of emergency for Wyoming County schools after a review of the school’s compliance with law and policy.

Investigators considered school governance, leadership, finances, and operations.

Issues identified included not posting agendas for nine meetings, lack of decorum at meetings, issues with public record, inadequate leadership practices, and mismanagement of personnel.

The Wyoming County Board of Education is required to attend training and submit a corrective action plan within the next thirty days.
