Summersville, WV (WOAY) Heads up, travelers! Expect to see extra law enforcement on the roads in Nicholas County.
The Summersville Police Department will conduct a DUI sobriety checkpoint Friday, July 31st, from 7:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m.
The checkpoint will be on Webster Road in Summersville, with an alternate location on Broad Street, and will be supported by roving DUI patrols throughout the night.
Officers will be watching for impaired drivers, underage drinking, and motorists driving with suspended or revoked licenses.
The commission on drunk driving prevention funds the effort, and drivers are reminded to buckle up, designate a sober driver if drinking, and always drive safely.
