West Virginia (WOAY) Hunters across the Mountain State can now begin preparing for the upcoming season.
The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources has released its 2026-2027 Hunting and Trapping Regulations Summary, outlining season dates, rule changes, and licensing information.
Among the updates are changes to big and small game seasons, expanded hunting opportunities for bear and turkey in Logan, McDowell, Mingo and Wyoming counties during the Mountaineer Heritage Season, and new allowances for youth hunters and Class Q permit holders to harvest one antlered deer during special split seasons.
Hunters are encouraged to review the updated regulations and purchase their licenses at WVhunt.com before the fall season begins.
