Princeton, WV (WOAY) A new housing development aimed at serving seniors and veterans is taking its first step forward in Princeton.
Mountain Acres Properties Inc. and the Bluefield Arts and Revitalization Corporation will host a celebration on Thursday, March 26, at noon, marking the start of the Easley Clark McConnell Gardens Apartments project.
The development will bring ten new affordable units for residents ages 55 and older to Henderson Street, on the former site of the historic Dunbar School.
Project leaders say $1.75 million in grant funding has already been secured, including major support from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh.
Organizers say the project has been years in the making and reflects a continued commitment to revitalizing the community.
