Kanawha County, WV (WOAY) – There was a homecoming in Charleston on Thursday.
The 130th Airlift Wing of the National Guard returned home from a 3 to 4-month deployment in Africa.
To make the homecoming more special, it involved a new aircraft.
The older C-130H aircrafts are being re-capitalized and are still being flown at other locations.
The newer C-130Js have an increased range, are bigger, and are a more capable aircraft.
In total, there are 8 new planes on the Charlie West Runway.
