Suspect in custody in connection with larceny complaints in Raleigh County

Crab Orchard, WV (WOAY) A man is behind bars following an almost two-month-long investigation into a series of larceny complaints in Raleigh County. 

According to the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began on December 31 at a business on Willis Avenue in Crab Orchard.

Corporal McDaniel identified 53-year-old Christopher Beickert as the suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. 

 On February 17, deputies located and apprehended Beickert.

He faces multiple charges, including seven counts each of conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor, transferring or receiving stolen property, and obtaining goods under false pretenses,  two counts of grand larceny, and two counts of destruction of property. 

Sheriff Frank Priddy and Chief Deputy Frankie Shelton commend Corporal McDaniel for what they call a thorough investigation, as well as Corporal J. Hensley and Deputy Payne for their efforts in locating and arresting the suspect. 

Beickert awaits further court proceedings in Southern Regional Jail on a $75,000 bail.
