Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) A Fayette County warming shelter will open its doors tonight as those bitterly cold temperatures hit the region.
The center is at the old Oak Hill High School at 140 School Street.
Doors open at 8:00 pm and will remain open until 8:00 am.
Visitors who stop by can expect a warm place to sit, beverages, snacks, restrooms, and projector films.
The Southern Appalachian Labor School opens the shelter when temperatures fall below 15 degrees, including windchill.
The shelter always welcomes volunteers as the center cannot operate without their support.
If you are interested in volunteering at the warming center, you can call (681)422-4774 or check the Southern Appalachian Labor School Facebook page.
