Warming Up This Weekend; Dry Conditions Persist

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): As we end the work week, not a drop of rain has been seen since the beginning of the week. High pressure at the Earth’s surface across the region has pushed away moisture from the region, bringing us some very comfortable days. We’ll be reaching into the 80s this weekend, getting warmer than basically half of last August. Summer’s taking its time to leave the region before Autumn sets in. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the full details:

As we enter the next work week, dry weather and warm temperatures persist. High pressure will eventually fade, but with limited moisture, no meaningful rain will be around for the beginning of the week. Heading into Wednesday and Thursday, some storms and showers are likely to hit the Carolina and Virginia coast from the tropics. These could leak into our region, particularly the Greenbrier Valley and Southern Coalfields, giving us some much needed rain across those regions. However, the chances are only around 15% currently, and rainfall would be light. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
