Beckley VA Medical Center to receive infrastructure improvements

Beckley, WV (WOAY) – The Department of Veterans Affairs is investing an additional $800 million this fiscal year to upgrade VA health care facilities nationwide.

The funds are part of the Veterans Health Administration’s Non-Recurring Maintenance program, which aims to ensure safe and modern care environments for Veterans.

That means critical improvements at facilities like the Beckley VA Medical Center.

Projects will include updating sterile supply areas, fixing radiology HVAC systems, resolving high-voltage electrical issues, replacing steam lines, and renovating the fourth floor for community living.

VA Secretary Doug Collins called it “another step forward” in better serving Veterans and their families.

The money comes from cost savings under recent VHA reforms and brings total infrastructure spending for FY25 to $2.8 billion, nearly half a billion more than last year.

This announcement is part of broader progress, including reduced benefit backlogs, expanded clinic hours, new facilities, and faster claims processing for Veterans across the country.
