PCH recognized for highest quality knee and hip replacements with Blue Center of Distinction designation

Princeton, WV (WOAY) – WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital is making history as the only hospital in southern West Virginia to be recognized as a Blue Distinction Center for knee and hip replacements.

This prestigious designation, awarded by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield West Virginia, honors hospitals that deliver exceptional care, better patient outcomes, and meet rigorous national standards.

Blue distinction centers see 21 percent fewer readmissions and complications within 90 days after surgery.

PCH stands out with the state’s leading robotic-assisted surgery program, performing over 2,000 procedures using the advanced Mako robotic-arm system.

That means smaller incisions, faster recovery, and more precise results for patients.

President and ceo karen Bowling says this recognition reflects the exceptional skill of the orthopedic team and shows that world-class joint care is right here in southern West Virginia.
