Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – Two more former correctional officers have been sentenced for their role in the deadly assault that led to the death of Quantez Burks.

Corey Snyder has been sentenced to 19 years in prison. Jacob Boothe was sentenced to 3 years in prison.

Snyder pleaded guilty in federal court to violating Burks’s civil rights. He and other officers beat Burks, kicked him, and pepper-sprayed him while he was handcuffed in an interview room.

Boothe admitted to having the chance to intervene and save Burks, but chose not to. Both admitted to knowing that there was no surveillance camera in the interview room.
