Beckley, WV (WOAY)-A heads-up for drivers and residents in downtown Beckley.
The Beckley Sanitary Board announces that the temporary road closure on Woodlawn Avenue will end on Thursday, June 12.
The closure began on Wednesday, May 28, and affects the stretch between Neville Street and Earwood Street, where crews are replacing sanitary sewer and stormwater lines beneath the roadway.Â
This work is part of the City of Beckley’s preparations for its upcoming parking lot construction project in the area.Â
The closure was initially expected to last until June 5.Â
During this time, Woodlawn Avenue is closed to through traffic; however, residents and businesses still have access to their properties, although some brief disruptions and detours may be possible.Â
The Beckley Sanitary Board apologizes for the inconvenience and asks for the public’s patience as they work to improve the city’s infrastructure.Â
