Greenbrier East hosted Bluefield in a very good boys matchup. Early on, the Spartans staked out a solid lead behind the strength of Jasiah Rawls and the shooting of Seth Brown, Cory Beswick, and Nate Patton. They put up 20 points in the first six minutes, prompting Bluefield to take a timeout and settle down.
Despite poor shooting in those opening minutes, the Beavers kept firing and kept battling on the board. Their persistence paid off as they cut the lead to five by the end of the first quarter. That small momentum shift grew throughout the rest of the game, and the Beavers pulled ahead to win 56-46.
