2024 Youth Arts in the Parks Contest accepting submissions until February 7

Oak Hill, WV (WOAY)  – The New River Gorge National Park and Preserve is accepting art submissions from local students for the 2024 Youth Arts in the Parks contest. 

This year’s contest will include the classic wildflower category and a digital art critter challenge. 

The wildflower category traditionally features handmade flower art in various mediums inspired by spring Appalachian wildflowers growing in the New River Gorge area. 

While the digital art critter challenge showcases digitally made art depicting native wildlife. 

The contest is open to k-12 grade students from Fayette, Mercer, Nicholas, Raleigh and Summers counties. 

Artists can submit their pieces individually through their school or youth organization. 

The top entries will be featured in the spring 2024 online art exhibit and Tamarack Marketplace.

The contest submission deadline is February 7.
