2020 WOAY Girls Basketball Player of the Year – Liz Cadle

WOAY Sports is pleased to announce Liz Cadle is our 2020 Girls Basketball Player of the Year!

The Woodrow Wilson senior was one of the key contributors throughout the season for the Lady Flying Eagles, who began the year with high expectations. Cadle was able to maintain a high level of play, as Beckley’s schedule included games against multiple schools who would also make the state tournament.

Reaching Charleston for the second time in three years, the Lady Flying Eagles won their quarterfinal matchup over Morgantown, as Cadle led all scorers with 20 points. Though Woodrow Wilson would not be able to play their semifinal matchup, Cadle says she will remember the memories of playing and winning a game in the state tournament.

Cadle will continue her basketball career next season at Longwood, having signed her letter of intent prior to her senior season. She says the extra time off will make her more determined to contribute at the college level.

Congratulations to Liz Cadle on being named the 2020 WOAY Girls Basketball Player of the Year!
