2020 Football Preview: Wyoming East Warriors

NEW RICHMOND, WV (WOAY) – After four straight seasons below .500, Wyoming East football witnessed a return to the Class AA playoffs in 2019 and are hoping to build off that momentum.

But the Warriors will be doing so with some changes; many seniors have graduated, and Larry Thompson has been succeeded as head coach by former assistant Jimmy Adkins. The fact that Adkins already knows the returning players has made the transition a positive one.

Among the returnees is senior running back Caleb Bower, a WOAY Football Player of the Year finalist last season. He is noting how he’s grown as a role model for underclassmen, and helped make the transition smoothly between head coaches. He and the Warriors also believe a quick start to 2020 is important if they want to make a playoff push, much like last season.
