It was a very nice day today around the area, and highs today pushed towards the 80-degree mark in most areas.

If there’s a downside to all this nice weather, it’s the usual concern when we see days like this in the spring – elevated fire danger. There wasn’t anything like Red Flag Warnings around, but the combination of warm temperatures, low humidity and gusty winds caused the fire danger to be higher than normal.

The Easter holiday weekend looks nice as well, with similar conditions. A front approaching from the northwest will give us a small chance for showers and storms both days. But the vast majority of the rain will be to our northwest, so if you’re planning to travel in that direction, there will be some rain to deal with. It’s not until Monday and Tuesday that the rain chances go up to 70% (on Monday) and 60% (on Tuesday).

After the cool front finally swings through the region by Tuesday morning, temperatures cool off slightly, but even then, only to near normal levels. Another system means more rain chances on Thursday and Friday of next week.
