Charleston, WV (WOAY)- West Virginia State Police report they are undergoing a criminal and internal investigation of a former department member.
According to a WVSP press release, authorities were notified by its Internet Crimes Against Children unit that it received a cyber tip regarding potential child pornography uploaded by Senior Trooper R.A. Evick.
The department immediately placed Evick on administrative leave.
Before the department’s internal investigation was concluded, Evick reportedly resigned from his position.
State authorities report the investigation’s results would have resulted in Evick’s termination from the WVSP.
The investigation results will be provided to the Cabell County Prosecuting Attorney.
