WVGA Continuing Plans for 2020

WOAY – Hear from WVGA Executive Director Brad Ullman as the organization is making plans to continue ahead with its 2020 schedule.

While Ullman says there have been some events postponed, there are no current cancellations to this year’s schedule of events, many of which are due to be held in Southern West Virginia.

The Resort at Glade Springs will host the West Virginia Open in mid-June, with the Junior Amateur set for the following week. The 101st West Virginia Amateur is scheduled for July 28-31 at the Greenbrier. Ullman notes there are several factors in the favor of courses in the southern part of the state that the WVGA takes into account when deciding its championship venues.

As of Thursday, golf courses in West Virginia are still open despite the COVID-19 pandemic, but Gov. Jim Justice ordered courses to only allow one person per cart unless riders reside together.
