Westside’s Season Ends in Quarterfinals

CHARLESTON, WV (WOAY) – Westside girls basketball reached the state tournament for the first time since winning the 2014 championship, but this year’s season ended in the quarterfinals after Winfield won 81-38.

Both teams would play a close, defensive game for the first half, but Winfield went on a run throughout the second half, led by ZZ Russell’s 41 points – a new single-game state tournament record. Leslie Bailey, Riana Kenneda, and Makayla Morgan all had eight points for Westside.

The Lady Renegades finish the season 18-8.
