Stubborn Clouds Finally Clear For Supermoon Visibility

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): The stratocumulus clouds will finally part after Midnight so that we can enjoy the first night of the Sturgeon Supermoon.

WEATHER OVERVIEW: The upper-low will slowly drift east and bring clearing but not until Midnight to 2 a.m. Wednesday. The Supermoon will be about 98% full and visible by then in the western sky. The remainder of the week will see a transition to warmer temperatures, with the hot and humid weather returning late this weekend into early next week. The dry weather will prompt gardens and lawns to dry out yet again. The next threat of rain is not until a week from today as a front pushes into the region.

The dry Mississippi Valley and southern Plains will see a rapid onset to drought, so expect expansion of the drought from the Appalachians to the Mississippi Valley by early September.
