SOPHIA, WV (WOAY)- There was a first this weekend for the town of Sophia as the first Mountains of Mac, mac and cheese festival took place.
It happened right in the heart of downtown and had quite a turnout! So much so that they ran out of mac and cheese about an hour and a half into the festivities.
There were three competitors in the competition…Listed in order of who won… Hospice of SWV, the United Methodist Church, and the Raleigh County Democratic Executive Committee.
Multiple vendors and the local band Hello June were in attendance as well. Reporter Jillian Risberg and anchor Serena Davanzo were also there to enjoy the mac and cheese.
They say it was a cheesy good time!
