Thousands In The Dark as Storms Move East of The Alleghenies

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Rain and fog linger after severe storms rocketed through the region this afternoon.

Chief Meteorologist Chad Merrill reported earlier today on the StormWatch page about the threats associated with the storms:

DANGERS OVERNIGHT: Fog and live downed wires will be a problem for motorists. Look for more rain after 2 a.m. and standing water in spots.

MEMORIAL DAY: Clearing skies are expected in the morning. A front approaching will trigger scattered gusty storms (wind gusts 40-45 mph) between 4:30-8 p.m. This will be followed by a cooler, less humid regime Tuesday morning.
