HICO, WV (WOAY) – On Monday, Midland Trail hosted Greenbrier West in a baseball sectional elimination game.
After prolonged rain and thunderstorms, the game was suspended in the bottom of the third inning. With the game still in progress, the Patriots hold a 3-2 lead. The contest will be resumed at 1:00 pm on Tuesday at Midland Trail High School.
Greenbrier West softball was also scheduled to play in a sectional elimination game on Monday. However, like the baseball game, the Lady Cavaliers’ matchup at Richwood was also cut short due to the weather.
Greenbrier West and Richwood softball will resume their game at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, with the winner advancing to face Midland Trail for the sectional crown. The game was suspended in the bottom of the second inning, with neither team having scored yet.
