Raleigh County Courthouse facility and certain departments close

RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – Due to the growing concern and threat created by COVID-19 and in addition to Gov. Justice’s Stay at Home Order, the Raleigh County Commission is closing the old Courthouse facility and certain departments from Tuesday March, 24th through Friday March, 27th.

Commissioner Ron Hedrick states, “In an effort to help reduce the spread of this
virus the County Commission felt it was necessary to temporarily close certain offices of the county government; during this time we will be deep cleaning the courthouse and preparing to reopen in a potentially limited capacity while still making certain that we are able to assist and serve the public as best we can during this unprecedented time. Our law
enforcement will continue to be in operation as well as other essential staff. We want to thank all of the health care professionals, first responders and other essential services for keeping some normalcy during this time.”

The Judicial Annex Center will remain open under the Administrative Order issued by the WV State Supreme Court on Sunday March 22, 2020. Please check our website at www.raleighcounty.org for a complete list of closures during this time. We continue
to urge the public to utilize our services by U.S. Mail, by phone or by visiting our websites. A decision for Monday March 30, 2020 will be issued later this week as we follow the latest developments and information issued by health care professionals and State officials.
