BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – This morning, the Mountaineer Food Bank held a drive-thru veterans table in Beckley.
Veterans table program provides boxes of food to former military members in west Virginia. Each box contains 30lbs of food. Mountaineer Food Bank Coordinator Tabitha Mays says the boxes are to ensure that veterans are provided with nourishing and nutritious food.
“Right now COVID has taken a tremendous effect on everybody. There are so many lost of jobs, people laid off, and not getting paychecks coming in so it’s been pretty rough on just about everybody. It not just the veterans but the veterans are taking a hard crash too,” said Mays.
