a Raleigh County woman is grieving the loss of her horse.
Tiffany Accord told Newswatch that she and her family have been searching for their missing horse named Rusty in Metalton since December 15 after he disappeared while grazing near their barn.
On December 22, a hunter found the horse dead of an apparent gunshot wound near the Old Baylor Mine.
“I am absolutely heartbroken. How could someone be so cruel?” she said. “He was my baby for 20 years, and I will miss him dearly.”
Accord said she does not know who shot Rusty, and state police have launched an investigation into the matter.
