Free Black Lung Screening Mobile Unit to set up in Beaver on August 23

Beaver, WV (WOAY) – The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health’s mobile health unit is scheduled to be in Beaver today, August 23, providing free black lung screenings to all coal miners, current or retired. 

The screening takes around 30 minutes and includes a chest x-ray, a breathing test, blood pressure screening, and a short questionnaire. 

 

Screening results are provided directly to each miner and, by law, are confidential.   

The state-of-the-art mobile unit travels to convenient community and mine locations to provide health screenings to all coal miners. 

The mobile unit will be at the m-s-h-a mine academy at 1301 Airport Road in Beaver from 8:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m.
