The first part of the Sweet Springs Park Trail in Monroe County has been opened to the public.
It’s part of a larger effort to bring more people into the area through Sweet Springs Park.
The trail is the fifth restoration project at the park so far. Construction on the second part of the trail is expected to start soon.
You are not allowed to bring drugs or alcohol on the trail, and you must pack all your trash out with you. The park asks that you sign in and out as a safety precaution.
The trail is closed to individual hikers from November 15 until March 1.
