An inmate at FCI Beckley is dead after a fight yesterday evening.
Andrew Davis, a 39-year-old man from Ohio, was serving a more than five-year sentence for drug possession and distribution charges.
He was found in the prison just after 6 p.m. on Sunday after what a press release describes as an altercation occurred.
Corrections staff treated him for his injuries and tried to save his life. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
No other people were injured, and the incident is under investigation.
