Deadline to request West Virginia absentee ballot is May 8

Oak Hill, WV (WOAY)—The deadline to request a West Virginia absentee ballot is May 8.

To qualify for an absentee ballot, voters have to be unable to vote in person for medical reasons, work, or school.

If you are temporarily traveling away from home, you can get a ballot if it is delivered to an address outside your home county.

If you wish to apply for a sample ballot, you must submit it by the end of today.

You can deliver it yourself or fax your ballot.

You can also try to mail it, but by law, it cannot be processed if it does not arrive by today.

Early voting is also open until Saturday, May 11, at 5:00 p.m.
