WOAY – Concord basketball continued its season-ending homestretch Thursday by splitting a doubleheader with Notre Dame College in Athens.
The Mountain Lion men enjoyed a quick start against the Falcons, who rallied to go into halftime down 43-42, but Concord posted 52 points in the second half to win 95-86. Tommy Bolte, who played all 40 minutes, led all scorers with 36 points, while B.J. Hamlet contributed 17 points. Concord has won two of its last three.
The Lady Lions trailed 33-20 after the first quarter, before rallying to go into intermission down 48-44. The comeback attempt continued in the second half, but the Lady Falcons would go on to win 96-94. Riley Fitzwater recorded a double-double with 34 points and 13 rebounds, while Andreanna Pool scored 20 points.
Concord continues Mountain East play Saturday when they host Urbana.
