Oak Hill, WV (WOAY-TV): Just as the dry season gets underway, it’s important to protect your skin.
The relative humidity dropped to 10% early this week; a sign that we are entering the dry season. A couple of things to keep in mind: Maybe you’re having to moisten your lips a bit here over the last couple of days. Apply that chap stick, keep it in your purse going forward because you’re going to be needing it all the way through the winter season.
Now, not only will you need Chapstick going forward, but your hands are probably starting to dry out a bit from the low humidity. So keep the hand lotion in your purse or your pocketbook going forward. Hand lotion has a high shelf life, so if you have some from last year, chances are it’s still effective for moistening your hands this fall and winter season.
Have a humidifier. Those who suffer from nose bleeds need it during the night. It probably helps you sleep as well. Don’t forget that one of the most important things to do is to quench your thirst. You may not feel thirsty because you’re not sweating, but your skin is constantly losing moisture in the dry weather season.
