NICHOLAS COUNTY, WV (WOAY)- Nicholas County Sheriff William Nunley issued a statement on facebook earlier today.
The statement said that early this morning, the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Department responded to Muddllety Valley Road for a domestic disturbances call. Officers were advised that Gary Allen Johnson had a warrant from Putnam County, West Virginia.
After making contact with him, Johnson fled on foot and was armed with a gun. Johnson went into a wooded area of Nicholas County and advanced upon the deputies with the gun. Johnson fell victim to his injuries on the scene.
The WV State Police is investigating the incident and Newswatch will update you as we learn more.
