Oak Hill police officer terminated after recordings surfaced of him allegedly using racial slurs

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – An Oak Hill Police Officer has been fired after video recordings surfaced of him allegedly using racial and homophobic slurs.

Oak Hill Police Chief Mike Whisman has released the following statement: “As of this date, Tyler Richard’s employment has been terminated with the Oak Hill Police Department. Due to the fact that this stems from an internal investigation that has been ongoing and is still active under the Civil Service Laws of the State of West Virginia, no further comment can be made at this time.”
