2018 State Track Meet – Day One

WOAY – The 2018 WVSSAC Track & Field championships began Friday at Laidley Field in Charleston, with several area student-athletes doing well in multiple events. Competition continues Saturday at 9:00 AM. Here are the area teams and athletes who placed in the top six, therefore earning points for team standings:

STATE CHAMPION – Michael Beasley (Oak Hill, Boys AA Long Jump)

2ND PLACE – Nick Woodrum (Wyoming East, Boys AA High Jump)

4TH PLACE – Richwood (Boys A 4×800 Relay); Woodrow Wilson (Girls AAA Shuttle Hurdles); Independence (Boys AA Shuttle Hurdles); Woodrow Wilson (Boys AAA Shuttle Hurdles)

5TH PLACE – Greenbrier East (Girls AAA 4×800 Relay); Michael Beasley (Oak Hill, Boys AA High Jump); Ryan Vaught (Woodrow Wilson, Boys AAA 3200 Meters)

6TH PLACE – Nicholas County (Girls AA 4×800 Relay); PikeView (Boys AA 4×800 Relay); Taylor Winebrenner (Nicholas County, Girls AA Discus); Kaylee Nickoson (Valley, Girls A High Jump), Erin O’Sullivan (PikeView, Girls AA 3200 Meters)
