Beckley, WV (WOAY) – The 2018 Big Atlantic Classic began Monday in Beckley, with the Valley Greyhounds staying unbeaten after a 69-59 win over Van in the Class A division.
The Greyhounds established early momentum before the Bulldogs took the lead in the second quarter, but Valley would retake the lead before halftime and keep the momentum for the remainder of the contest.
Spencer Dean (25 points, 13 rebounds) and Nick Gipson (14 points, 10 rebounds) both had double-doubles, while Adam Falbo contributed 14 points. Gavin Smith led Van with 19 points.
Valley will play Pocahontas County Tuesday night for the Class A championship
