Weather Update: Rain Then Fog; Late Weekend Warmth Returns

Oak Hill, WV (WOAY-TV): Rain showers will end this evening and then under gradual clearing skies and calm wind, dense fog will limit visibility early Friday.

Chief Meteorologist Chad Merrill’s weather report from the Beckley Auto Show:

FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY: The stubborn low pressure to our south will ensure another of afternoon showers on Friday, perhaps a thunderstorm. Once again Friday night, the sky will likely clear with patchy fog. Saturday will bring a few sprinkles as the main circulation center passes to our north and then northeast. Flooding is not expected.

SUNDAY: We guarantee a repeat of Father’s Day weather with lots of sun, lower 80s and likely more humidity. It will be a fabulous day to head to the pool!

MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY: An approaching cold front will trigger a few afternoon showers and storms Monday. The front will slow in its progression to the I-95 corridor, so another round of showers is likely Tuesday followed by cooler and slightly less humid during the midweek.

Chief Meteorologist Chad Merrill’s latest forecast:

ATLANTIC TROPICS: Tropical Storm Bret will continue to push west and likely impact Central America late this weekend. In its wake, Tropical Depression Four will become Cindy. An approaching upper trough will guide Cindy towards Bermuda by the middle of next week. Even looking farther ahead, Cindy will likely stay east of the East Coast late next week into early July.
